Permission to work arrangements for student visa holders
From 26 April 2008, people granted student visas will automatically receive permission to work with their visa grant. Most student visa holders will no longer need to apply separately in Australia for permission to work.

Visa label-free arrangements for student visa holders
You do not need a visa label in your passport to confirm your immigration status and visa entitlements in Australia. Instead, your visa information is held electronically and can be accessed using the Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) service.
Students from the People's Republic of China may still require a visa label to facilitate travel to Australia.

Student eVisa form changes - from 26 April 2008
From 26 April 2008 the department will implement changes to the Student eVisa forms for clients applying from outside Australia. The eVisa forms available online will be changed to contain additional questions on Health and Character.
To avoid any unnecessary delays in processing your application, you are encouraged to complete all of the additional information when completing your application online.

- Từ nay, đơn xin visa sinh viên nộp bên ngoài nước Úc có thể được thực hiện online qua trang web của Bộ di trú: www.immi.gov.au. Điều này giúp rút ngắn thời gian chuyển thư từ, thời gian đọc và xử lý đơn thư, và quan trọng là giúp sinh viên nước ngoài có thể tự lo giấy tờ mà không phải thông qua dịch vụ du học như trước nay.
- Tất cả visa sinh viên từ nay cũng sẽ tự động đi kèm permission to work ngay từ đầu, không cần phải nộp đơn xin riêng permission to work sau khi đến Úc.
- Tất cả visa của Úc hiện nay đều có thể được truy cập điện tử, do đó nếu bạn đã được cấp visa mà chưa dán cái miếng label đó vô passport cũng không sao, nhân viên hải quan có thể xem thông tin visa của bạn qua mạng. Tuy nhiên, riêng công dân Trung Quốc vẫn phải có cái tấm visa label dán lên passport.

Hehe cái này đúng là hay thật. Mình mới gia hạn được visa và nhận được tin này từ immi. Lúc trước tính đóng $60 xin permission to work mà giờ ko cần nữa. Phẻ wá xá ^^
